Arrival in Bamako and check-in at the Ibis hotel. Night out at one of the many cabarets in the capital to listen to Mandingo music.

After a tour of the capital that will take us to the country’s history museum, we will head to Ségou, the former capital of the Bambara Empire. After checking into the hotel, we will take a tour of the city that will lead us to the bustling old town at night. The next day, an excursion will take us to the pottery village of Kalabougou. The village chief will tell us about the complexities of BAMBARA culture. In the evening, we will have a trekking along the banks of the Niger River to admire a beautiful sunset. Given its historical importance, we will dedicate two days to visiting the city of Djenne. We will organize the program to coincide with market day. We will visit the mosque and the old town. We will visit the archaeological sites of the city and then go to the Bozo (fishermen) to understand their way of life. Accommodation at the Hotel Jeno.

Mopti will mark our first stop on the way to the Bandiagara cliffs. After a walk through the market of the big city, we will check into the Hotel La Falaise.

Four days will be necessary to thoroughly explore the mythical Dogon country. We will meet people who live in perfect harmony with nature. We will take excursions to the cliffs where centuries-old practices of ancestor worship and initiation ceremonies are preserved. The shape of the huts and granaries, the farming techniques, and the splendid landscape of the area are elements that will capture our attention. Given the extent of the area and its cultural richness, we will have to travel a lot to get to know these unique people.

We will pass through the village of SAN where we will take a break. Then we will meet the Fulani nomads of the region. In the evening, we will go to the banks of the river to enjoy the last sunset before our return to the capital. Accommodation at the Hotel Teriya.
