DAY 1:

Arrival in the capital and settling in at the Hotel Ibis.

DAY 2: ON THE ROUTE NORTH

Departure for Bouaké, a city that is emblematic of the country’s recent history and a bastion of the Baoulé ethnic group. We will meet the person in charge of the area’s ceramicists who will show us the contours of the trade. That night, we will attend one of the cultural soirées held in the village square. DAY 3: DEPARTURE FOR KORHOGO

We will go to meet the Senufo ethnic group. The city is also the artistic center of the country. We will meet the weavers, the wood sculptors, and also the famous blacksmiths of the region. Night at the Hotel Le Prestige.

DAY 4: PORO RITUAL AND VISIT TO THE CITY OF KONG

The north is famous for its preponderance of initiation rites that the communities always take part in. With the spiritual chief’s blessing, we will be granted some discussions about these ancestral practices. After, we will discover the prestigious mosque in Kong, impressive for its antiquity and its structure. Night in Mont Korhogo.

DAY 5: YAMOUSSOKRO

Returning from the north, we will pass through the colonial city of Tiassalé. There we will see vestiges from the colonial era which stand in contrast to all the modernity that characterizes Yamoussokro. We will be able to take a stroll along the N’zi River. We will end the day by visiting the Notre Dame de la Paix cathedral in Yamoussokro. We will discover an African capital in all its splendor. Night at the Hotel La Réserve.

DAY 6: DEPARTURE FOR MAN

The west of the country offers lush green landscapes where we will venture. Trekking into the Djaipleur forest to admire the varied fauna and flora. Night at the Hotel Les Cascades.

DAY 7: EXCURSION TO LIEUPLEU

Excursion over the liana bridge in the region. Exchanges with the inhabitants in order to understand the historic importance of the bridge. Hiking through the area to enjoy its natural beauty and the diversity of its flora. In the evening, we will return to sleep in Man (or camp out in the village).

DAY 8: DEPARTURE FOR SAN PEDRO

From the cliff road in the city we will take off to explore a few islands in the region. Bird watching and sunset over Djigboué lagoon. After, we will go to the Nawa falls amid its splendid tropical vegetation. Night at the Jardins d’Ivoire.

DAY 9: EXCURSION TO THE TAI NATIONAL PARK

This stop will be devoted to a safari through Tai National Park to admire the varied fauna and flora. We will sleep at the hotel there, the better to enjoy the area’s beauty.

DAY 10: VISITING THE CITY OF ASSINIE

Excursion on the lagoon in the city of Assinie. We will visit the fishermen’s village and explore in dugout canoes the mangroves in the area. We will stay at the Coucué Lodge which offers an ideal setting for nautical activities.

DAY 11: VISITING THE CITY OF BASSAM

This stop will be devoted to the colonial history of the country. We will visit remnants from that era. Our attention will be drawn to the work of local craftsmen. In the evening, we will enjoy the natural beauty of the beaches at the Hotel Etoile du Sud.

DAY 12: LAST TOUR OF ABIDJAN

After breakfast, we will go to the capital. Certain districts like Yopougon and Treichville will particularly interest us. After a tour through the crafts market, we will go to the airport in preparation for departure.
